Jack Kerouac, The Railroad Earth
warmsack = warm + sack
Jack Kerouac, one of my favorite writers, used warmsack to refer to his bed --- or sometimes his sleeping bag. My painting studio is in a spare bedroom in my home. Therefore the place I paint is in a spot where perhaps my warmsack should be.
In addition, this is a multi-purposed site which includes many photos from various backpacking trips in the North Cascades and western America where I have spent many nights in my own stuffed warmsack. Therefore, I chose this rather odd name as the title of this site.
Click onto any of the links to the right. The first three links send you to an electronic portfolio of some studies, drawings, prints, and paintings I've completed over the years.
There are presently two main links to the photo sections. One link leads directly to a clickable map and catalog of remote and long roadtrips the western U.S. The second link takes you to a clickable map also, but of more specific hikes and trips in the North Cascades of Washington State, trips too numerous to list on the first page.
This site was originally developed with the primary intent of sharing these images with distant family and friends, but the photo sections have evolved to become more general travelogues and (some very) brief descriptions of backcountry trips. The writing (and many of the photographs) leave much to be desired, but please feel free to visit. Please keep in mind this is also a work in progress.
Cheers...

I will continue to add additional photos and pages to the two photo sections above, However, many more recent photos appear on my Flickr page, which frankly is an easier way to add photos these days to the web than building individual web pages.
The link to that page is below:
