| Mount Townsend
Buckhorn Wilderness
May 1987
Mount Townsend was an early hike for me in Washington. It's on the Olympic Penninsula, one of the few hikes I've done in the Olympics.
It was so long ago that I don't remember much, other than it being very scenic with broad, expansive views. We camped at a snowy lake, Silver Lakes I believe.
The day we had to scramble allowed us to reach high peaks with faraway views of other Olympic peaks and a few mountain goats.
These photos are from old slides I found. The film I was using at the time produced grainy, dim pictures, so the resulting scans are not very good.
