Alpine Lakes Wilderness

I don't have strong memories of this hike, or at least the approach. I seem to recall it being in a nice forest. I do remember Chiwaukum Lake, a relatively large alpine lake by which we camped beside for two evenings. And I remember watching the lake one night while fixing dinner and seeing an eagle swoop down and pluck a fish from the lake.

I also remember a snowy side hike during the day we reserved to play around up there. This was a hike up to Larch Lake in the basin above Chiwaukum Lake.

The photo links of Larch Lake are all I have remaining from this hike. The rugged peaks behind the lake are the Chiwaukum Mountains. On the opposite side of the mountains are the lakes descibed in the Chatter Creek page.

As with many other early hikes, I seem to have misplaced many of my old slides, so this is all there is.
